One of two Chula Vista boys missing since Friday has been found, police said Tuesday.
Police said Samuel Saunders has been located. However, 12-year-old Jermayne Navarro is still missing.
10News learned that Tijuana police spotted two kids in the city. One stayed with police and the other took off. Authorities said the child found was Samuel and the one who ran off is likely to be Jermayne. Jermayne has family in Mexico and has been there before, police said.
Samuel, on the other hand, was unfamiliar with the city. Shortly before 4 a.m., Samuel was reunited with his family.
Police said Navarro and Saunders experienced difficulty at their school, Rancho Del Rey Middle School, on Friday and did not return home.
Chula Vista police said they believe Navarro and Saunders are together, not at risk except for their age and may have run away. The two may also be staying with friends who are unaware of their runaway status.
Navarro is 5-foot-4, 120 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He is possibly wearing a black shirt, white shorts and a black and red hat.
