Decision Time for New Mayor

October 21st began the first day mail ballots and early voting was available for the November 19th mayoral election. Early voting is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Kearny Mesa office of the County Registrar of Voters, 5201 Ruffin Road, suite I. The special election was made necessary by the August 30th resignation of Bob Filner. November 4th is the last day to register to vote. November 12th is the last day to apply for a mail ballot. On November 19th, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the special municipal election. If no mayoral candidate receives a majority, 50 percent plus 1, of the votes a run-off election will be held between the top two vote- getters after the first of the year.
