A ten-month-old girl who was abducted on Friday in New Mexico was found safe, and a suspect is in custody. A five-year-old girl was also found with a gunshot wound to the head.

search was launched for Eleia Maria Torres on Friday (May 3) after her mother, 23-year-old Samantha Cisneros, and 23-year-old Taryn Allen were found shot to death at Ned Houk Park. Cisneros was also the mother of the injured five-year-old.

The fathers of the two children cooperated with the investigation and were not believed to be involved in the kidnapping.

Officials said Torres was taken to the hospital as a precaution, while her five-year-old sister is recovering in hospital from the head wound.

The Clovis Police Department released a brief statement and said they would provide additional details at a later time.

"The Clovis Police Department would like to thank all agencies involved in this investigation that worked tirelessly to reach this conclusion," the department wrote on Facebook.
