The killing of 20 kids and 6 adults at Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown Connecticut last Friday hit most of us real hard.
It’s been a long time since any news story has caused me to tear up so easily.
The typical response is anger or sadness or both. We may cry.
We may mourn. We may send a message. We may send money.
But maybe there’s more we can and should do.
One of our listeners says that after the shootings last week, she went into her kid’s bedroom and got rid of any video game with violence.
Another listener said she’d be more watchful of her kids’ behavior.
So what did you do? What will you do?
What happened in Newtown was bad, real bad.
And it’s easy to wallow in it and watch it and listen to it and hug your kids and say thank you.
But instead of just crying about it or feeling deep sadness, maybe we should do something…do something that might make a difference and might help something good come out of something so bad.
