It's not unheard-of that we in San Diego pay more for gas than other places in the US. It IS unheard-of that we pay more that EVERYbody in the country....which is what happened this week. I cannot think of ONE thing more detrimental to a fragile economic recovery than skyrocketing gas...and I cringe when I think of what this will do to those who are already living close to the bone. How is a single mom or dad going to absorb the additional cost, not in just fuel, but virtually everything else? While I love the idea of alternate-fuels, and hybrid cars, many people are not able to absorb the 40,000 dollar cost of a new Volt. Or the possible house-fire you might get when you plug it in. The good news is, house fires are quite toasty, and with utility costs rising, that may be a good way to stay warm through tonight's storm!
