Yes, I am going to throw another fiver in the work lottery pool. Most of us are. There's that niggling feeling that if you don't and your co-workers win, you will hate yourself, right? Plus I don't want to envy Sherri's Island near Fiji...it would kill me. I have been doing a little research on lottery winners, though, and found many become lottery losers. One murdered by his sister's boyfriend...another who won twice and lost it all in Atlantic City...there are more and you can read about them in today's list of stories. I would love to be fabulously wealthy, that's for sure, and I am trying hard to get there. This lottery thing has given me a chance to sit back and contemplate my future. A future, I feel certain, that will NOT be funded by any sudden windfalls. So I am talking to various financial advisers, looking to add another layer of financial security to my 401K. Starting another retirement account, beefing up savings, getting aggressive with investments...and in just taking those steps, I feel like a winner already.
