in
December so we’re off to a good start).
Happy New Year!

NEWS
& HEADLINES:

Why
is everything suddenly a cliff?

If it’s
not the so-called fiscal cliff (can anything in government be more boring?) it’s
a newly declared cliff: the dairy-cliff.
This could have your family paying the actual
market price for things that are produced by farmers. Is that a bad thing?  Why
are we extending something from the Depression (the real Depression of the
1920s) into 2013 anyway?

The ‘death
of the Tea Party’
appears to have been as premature as
the death announcement of former President George H. W. Bush
of that
happened the other day. What I don’t understand is why the media act as if
Democrats can’t vote for GOP legislation: When
the Bush tax cuts were passed Democrats called them tax cuts for the rich

(they did the same every time they were renewed), now they’re for the middle
class. Democrats
can make up any GOP shortfall, but the media acts like they can’t.  They just won’t.

Marines are coming back from more than a decade of
war.  First
they’re coming back to news that they’ll start getting random breathalyzers

(something a commander can already do) and here’s a story of a Marine
getting robbed while deployed of all of her memories - $25,000 worth and her
getting only $2,000 in insurance.

This is the world we live in – nobody is sacred.

There
is an Australian making news because he’s swimming from Cuba to the USA without
a shark cage.
  One just
hopes he sees this story: imagine
sitting on the deck of your fishing boat, fighting with a shark to bring aboard
for dinner – then to see it snapped away by an even bigger shark

makes you wonder what’s out there…

Secretary
of State Hillary Clinton is finally over the longest stomach flu and concussion
in human history and will be testifying before Congress this week over the
events in Benghzai.
  One thing
the Members have to do is not give speeches and waste time, but ask pointed,
direct questions of the Secretary who took “full responsibility” of the events
there.  The GOP says they will not allow
the nomination of John Kerry to replace Hillary Clinton go forward until she
testifies about that day.

One of the questions that MUST be asked of Clinton is why
no U.S. troops were sent over the course of the nearly 8-hour battle in Libya
(when they were only a few hours away). It’s
especially telling since there are now U.S. troops heading to Chad to help
evacuate Americans from the Central African Republic.

Ah, and here
comes ‘news’ that the Occupy movement (which was not really a movement so much
as a group of unclean, spoiled college students and bums looking for free stuff
from working Americans) were watched by the FBI.
  So?
The FBI investigated members of the Tea Party & not a single rape,
murder or vat of human waste was left behind from any Tea Party rally.  By the
way: in just two days $1 trillion of Obamacare taxes will begin and if you’re
like me you’ll be unlucky enough to pay ALL of them
– largest tax
increase in American history coming and we’re talking about milk?

Among the first people to call for changes to American gun
laws after Newtown’s massacre of children was British citizen Piers
Morgan.  So stupid was his arguments that
he
is the only person in the USA with a petition on the White House

website asking he be deported. Now
he says HE’LL LEAVE if we don’t change our gun laws.
Let’s do one better: loosen them up so he
leaves for sure.  He
needs to face justice over phone hacking & wire fraud in the UK anyway:
this will get him out of the USA faster.

Speaking of petitions: there
is a new petition at the White House asking for gun-free zones around the
president, vice president and others with Secret Service protection.

Seems logical.  Since guns are the problem maybe all of the
people with guns protecting them and their kids should go without – it will
make us all safer, right?

The number of people that were killed in the last month in
NYC after being pushed in front of subways is astonishing (considering these
types of crimes haven’t been seen since the early 1980s).  Anyway:
the latest is being classified as a hate crime by NYC Mayor Bloomberg, but what
he’s not doing is calling for the banning of subways (the weapon) – why not?
He called for a gun ban the day Newtown
happened.

Senator
Feinstein intends on introducing a bill in the new Congress that lays out a
number of guns that will not be allowed
– one of the few things
guns will not be permitted to have are “military-characteristics.”  Anybody know what that is?  Don’t all guns have military characteristics?

So
is Barack Obama up for a fight about guns?
He told David Gregory on NBC News on Sunday that he was ready for the
fight
and that he’s going to be pushing the gun control
legislation along.  What that means, if
history is a guide, is that he’ll say it at the State of the Union and then
blame the GOP when he doesn’t get all that he wants.

Antonio Villaraigosa wants to be a
U.S. Senator or Governor of California.
What’s a guy to do when his time is up and he has nothing to do – well
hang out with felons at grand openings of bars of course.  Antonio
and Charlie Sheen.
What a great example he’s setting for the young
people of L.A.

Abu Qatada lives in expensive
homes all at British taxpayer expense.  Now
he lives in a £450,000 private home, but because of all his fatwas against the
British people he wants to move again – and they Brits are going to move him
again at taxpayer expense.
  Only
one way to get rid of savages & it’s not to put him up in homes the average
Brit cannot afford.

Maggie Thatcher was called
everything from evil to the Iron Lady (the latter is certainly more
appropriate) and as
her private papers are slowly declassified it is certain that if we had more
people like her in the world of politics today there would be no worries about
Iran or North Korea
(or France for that matter).
