POLL: Where San Diegans Travel Memorial Day Weekend

It’s here.  The Memorial Day holiday weekend. The Auto Club says that nationwide there are more people are traveling this weekend than in any year since 2005.  Some 39.3 million Americans will be travelling somewhere this holiday weekend, up almost 3 percent from last year.

It could be the economy. Unemployment is down so more people are working so more people have a little more money than maybe they did last year.

But maybe people are travelling more this holiday weekend than last year because they need a break from the stress and just want to go somewhere where they don’t get forced into talking politics and want to get away from cable news for a few days.

A lot of travelers are expected to travel to San Diego this holiday weekend.  The Auto Club says San Diego is one of the most popular places to visit.

Travelers who are visiting San Diego may be disappointed if they’re expecting lots of sunshine.  The weather folks say May Gray is here at least for a few more May days, so there will be plenty of clouds around.

But we all know that San Diego is about a lot more than just nice weather, most of the time.

San Diego may be one of the biggest cities in the U.S. with lots of tourist attractions, but it’s mostly a city of neighborhoods and of people who don’t have to travel anywhere to know it’s still America’s finest city.
