A San Diego lifeguard is going viral after a photographer caught her daring rescue on camera. Jim Grant was near Sunset Cliffs this past Sunday when he caught the now viral image.
He took a shot of lifeguard Kristen Rich as she dove off the cliffs to rescue a surfer struggling to stay afloat after breaking his board in heavy surf. She managed to pull him to safety and the photo made her an instant celebrity in the community.
Grant, the man who took the viral photo, says a crowd of onlookers gave her a round of applause after she made the rescue.
