SDPD have released body-worn camera videos in connection with an officer involved shooting in Rancho Penasquitos on October 14th.
Police say officer Timothy Beck shot 61-year-old Richard Young on his porch. The videos show an officer shooting Young moments after he pulled out a revolver while partially restrained.
Police also released a recording of the 911 call that preceded the shooting, in which Young is heard telling his wife and a dispatcher that he intended to commit “suicide by cop.” Young's gun shot wound was not life-threatening. He remained in police custody. Officer Beck has worked for the San Diego Police Department for five years.
